August 2022 Newsletter

Group with new ultrasound machine

Since the last Newsletter in April, much has happened, and it is time to update our wonderful Sponsors on the news. As mentioned last time we were overwhelmed by the generous donations that were made in memory of our former Chairman, Stephen Doerr. After consultation with Cherno, the Clinic Administrator, it was decided to honour the memory of both Stephen and our original Chairman John Dale, by purchasing a much-needed ultrasound machine. This was sent out to The Gambia in early July and is already being put to good use, enhancing The Clinic’s ability to provide quality medical services.
An email from Cherno stated: “…the machine is playing a critical role in our drive to provide affordable and available healthcare to our community and beyond. In that endeavour, your committee continues to show commitment and magnanimity to our cause and for that we are indeed grateful…” The photograph below, shows the pleasure this machine has brought to The Clinic.

We are immensely proud of all that is being achieved at The Clinic and the enormous progress that has been made since it was first set up. In order to be able to share some of this progress in person this year we are holding our Annual General Meeting at St Peter’s Church Centre, Street Lane, Ardingly, West Sussex, RH17 6UN on SUNDAY 25th September commencing at 2.30pm.

Aside from the formalities required by this AGM, this will be an opportunity to hear what has been achieved in the last year and our plans for the immediate and long-term future.

This is an Open Meeting, so all are welcome. It would be appreciated if you could advise in advance whether you are able to attend, especially since we shall be providing refreshments. Please advise via email to [email protected] or [email protected]

We look forward to seeing many of you there. It is an exciting time for us all and we continue to be so grateful to our sponsors for their generosity and support. Without this, we would not be able to provide the quality of care which so many people in Old Jeshwang have come to appreciate.

If you have received this newsletter by post, it is because we do not have your email address. If you are prepared to receive future correspondence via email, and to help us conserve running costs, could you please send an email to: [email protected]. Many thanks.
